Poltergeist the Cat

Privacy Policy

Effective November 7, 2026

Poltergeist the Cat ("we", "us") is a pet content project run by the owners of the cats Poltergeist and Phantom, based in Canada. This policy explains what information we handle on this website and in the software we use to publish content to our own social media accounts.

This website

  • We do not use cookies, analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts.
  • We do not ask you to create an account or submit any personal information.
  • The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes standard technical information (such as IP addresses and browser details) in order to deliver and protect the site. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Email

If you email us, we use your email address and message only to reply to you and handle your request. We do not sell, rent or share it, and we will delete your correspondence on request.

Our publishing software

We use our own private software to publish photos and videos of our cats to our own accounts on platforms including YouTube, Instagram, Threads, Facebook, TikTok and Pinterest, using each platform's official API.

  • The software is used only by us, and only connects to accounts we own.
  • It does not collect, store or share information about any other users. It may read basic information about our own accounts and our own posts (for example, account name and post status) in order to publish and manage content.
  • Access tokens issued by the platforms are stored only on our own computer and are never shared.
  • Our use of YouTube is subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. Access granted to our software can be revoked at any time through Google security settings.

Data deletion

To ask us to delete any information we hold about you (such as emails you've sent us), contact us at hello [at] poltergeistthecat [dot] com. We will confirm and complete the deletion within 30 days. Because our software only accesses our own accounts, it holds no data about other people to delete. Any platform connection can also be removed from that platform's own app or security settings.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the effective date above.
